Vier Kerzen!
Eine Kerze für den Frieden,
die wir brauchen,
weil der Streit nicht ruht.
Für den Tag voll Traurigkeiten
eine Kerze für den Mut.
Eine Kerze für die Hoffung
gegen Angst und Herzensnot,
wenn Verzagtsein unsren Glauben
heimlich zu erschüttern droht.
Eine Kerze, die noch bliebe
als die wichtigste der Welt:
eine Kerze für die Liebe,
voller Demut aufgestellt,
daß ihr Leuchten den Verirrten
für den Rückweg ja nicht fehlt,
weil am Ende nur die Liebe
für den Menschen wirklich zählt.
